I am David O. Cofield

I am the most blessed man alive having experienced the grace of God by faith to be a follower of Jesus Christ at the age of nine.  I have been married to a beautiful and supportive wife, Roxanne Kilpatrick Cofield, since 1980.  We have two sons, Keith (1983) and Kevin (1987).  

Kevin has four sons, Cayden O'Neal (February 2, 2010), Mason Jett (March 14, 2013), Baylor Alexander (August 27, 2014) and Noah Payton and one daughter, Mary Ellis (November 9, 2017).  Kevin is married to Brooke.  

Keith has two daughters, Brooklyn Jane (November 20, 2010) and Abigail Jane (March 21, 2014).

We have one Shih Tzu dog named Bentley Jett who came into our home in July 2023.  

I serve as Pastor of Rainsville First Baptist Church, Rainsville, AL since July 15, 2015.

I graduated from Boaz High School in 1978, attended Snead State Community College, graduated from Samford University in 1983, and graduated from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with my Master of Divinity degree in 1987. 

I love the city of New Orleans and southern Louisiana after having lived there and served as Interim Pastor at University Baptist Church, Thibodaux, LA while in seminary.

I announced my call to preach on July 14, 1971, and was ordained by the Bethsaida Baptist Church, Boaz, AL July 23, 1978.

I love jazz music and Southern Gospel music.
