About Me

I am David O. Cofield

I am the most blessed man alive having experienced the grace of God by faith to be a follower of Jesus Christ at the age of nine.  I have been married to a beautiful and supportive wife, Roxanne Kilpatrick Cofield, since 1980.  We have two sons, Keith and Kevin.  

Kevin has four sons and one daughter and is married to Brooke.  

Keith has two daughters, Brooklyn and Abby and is married to Lori.

We have one Shih Tzu dog named Bentley Jett who came into our home in July 2023.  

I served as Pastor of Rainsville First Baptist Church, Rainsville, AL from July 15, 2015 until my retirement March 4, 2025.

I graduated from Boaz High School in 1978, attended Snead State Community College, graduated from Samford University in 1983, and graduated from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with my Master of Divinity degree in 1987. 

I love the city of New Orleans and southern Louisiana after having lived there and served as Interim Pastor at University Baptist Church, Thibodaux, LA while in seminary.

I announced my call to preach on July 14, 1971, and was ordained by the Bethsaida Baptist Church, Boaz, AL July 23, 1978.

I love jazz music and Southern Gospel music.

And my future is beyond imagination all because of Jesus Christ.
