There were three strategic moments at the Southern Baptist Convention meeting in St. Louis June 14-15, 2016. I have included videos of those three historic moments.
First, Dr. Russell Moore, President of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, responded to a question about Religious Freedom. Baptists have always supported religious freedom of all religions.
Second, Dr. James Merritt, a former President of the Convention and current Pastor of Crosse Pointe Church in Duluth, GA speaks to an amendment concerning the display of the Confederate Flag. After his speech, the amendment passed and the overall resolution passed 90%.
Here is the complete resolution
Here is the third event when the two candidates for President were so tight in the runner off that J.D. Greear felt led to withdraw his name and the Convention elect Dr. Steve Gaines as President. What a great show of humility.
