From the Shepherd's Heart...Tuesday, December 1, 2015

Thank you for your concern for me over the weekend.  I did have fever Saturday and Sunday morning, thus I did not shake hands with people Sunday.  But when I got home Sunday afternoon, my fever was gone and has not returned.  Just goes to prove the anointing of God can, at times, cure you.  GLORY!!

I was so blessed last Thursday to be a small part of the "Feed DeKalb."  Over 100 volunteers showed up Thursday morning to prepare and deliver approximately 750 plates.  Thanks to everyone from our church (and many from outside our church) who came and especially thanks to Isaac Mays for your vision, passion and leadership.  Awesome impact to our community.

This is the annual "Week of Prayer for International Missions."  We kicked it off this past Sunday and each day this week we are joining with Baptists around the world to pray.

This Sunday night we have our annual church-wide Christmas and Mission Party beginning at 5:30 in the fellowship hall.  The church will furnish the meat. Bring your favorite covered dishes and desserts.  Also bring a new, unwrapped toy for the Rainsville Christmas Charities.  There will be inflatables for the children to enjoy.

Also, we will begin to receive our Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.  You may give any time during the month of December but Sunday night we will focus on what this offering is and receive our challenge to give.  I am challenging you not to give anyone on your Christmas gift list a gift of more value than you are giving to Jesus through the Lottie Moon Christmas offering.

Two other special Christmas events coming up this month:

December 13 - 6:00 Night of Christmas Music

December 24 - 5:30 to 6:00 - Christmas Eve Service - it will not last but 30 minutes.

No services on December 23 or 30.

This Sunday you will receive an invitation you can share with friends and family to join us for Christmas at RFBC.  We will have 2,000 of these invitations, so pick up more and share them.
