Friday, July 20, 2018.....From the Shepherd's Heart

This Sunday we continue our study of the Gospel of Luke chapter 12 looking at the over-arching theme of the fear of God.  Jesus addresses that "his friends" (12:4) should fear God and not man.  In this passage this Sunday, we will address verses 4-7 under the theme "The Incredible, Infinite Knowledge of God."

We will dive into the depths of this wonder revealed in these verses....God knows and remembers even a sparrow that is almost worthless and God "numbers" (the word we get arithmetic) the very hairs of our head.  WOW - what a God of infinite knowledge.  I don't even remember the sparrows and I don't know the number of hair on my head.  But God does.

Is that good news?  Or does that horrify us?  Yes and yes. That should bring us great fear because we will stand before that God who knows it all, but we also should take great comfort God knows it all.

I look forward to being with you in worship this Sunday in the 10:15 service and then at 6:00 to celebrate the Lord's Supper.  A great day ahead.
