Teachers of the Word of God (preachers, Sunday School)

James 3:1 warns "Let not many of you become teachers..." That warning should cause every one who is a teacher or aspires to be one a second (third, fourth, etc) take.  Harsh words.

But I want to look at the positive in this truth.  Edgar Dale Cone of Learning said people remember:

10% of what they read

20% of what they hear

30% of what they see

50% of what they see and hear

(passive learning ends here and active learning begins)

70% of what they discuss

80% of what they do

90% of what they teach

WOW - what a blessing to be a teacher and leader.  You will ALWAYS get far more from what you teach than those who hear you.
