From the Shepherd's Heart....Wednesday, August 31, 2016

Tonight is the night we have been waiting for.  KICKOFF - not of college football but our new Children's Ministry.

This is such a BIG event everyone is coming - all the adults, all the students, and all the children will be in one room together on a Wednesday night.  It all begins in the Auditorium at 6:10 but will later move to the Gym for games and fun.

At this point of the game, so many have dreamed, prepared, worked, planned and organized to see this happen.  Yes, it was first in the heart of Whitney Traylor, but now has been birthed in many, many more.

Thank you church for your willingness to follow.  THIS is a GREAT sign of a healthy church. Leaders praying, seeking God, sharing vision and the church following with enthusiasm and gratitude.  I have not heard one negative comment about us changing our means of reaching and teaching children.  We are NOT changing our focus, just the means (program) of doing it.

Thank you church family.

The Arrow Kid's Club first official night of class meetings in the newly remodeled facilities will be Wednesday, September 7.

This Sunday, all the children (Grades 1-6) will meet in their new Children's Center for Sunday School and Worship.  (Daphne Garrett's class is the only one not moving).

That's right...we are calling it The Children's Center.

Then our newly remodeled Student Center will be open for the Students Wednesday, September 7. How exciting!!

We will have "Open House" for our newly remodeled facilities on Sunday, September 11 after the morning service.

We need some volunteers to help with  Upward on GameDay through October 1.  We need 4 volunteers per game (9:00, 10:00 and 11:00) to operate the scoreboards and hold down markers.  The immediate need is this Saturday's games. Contact Drew Hogsed at 256-599-3231 if you can help or sign up in the Foyer.

Don't forget there will be no Sunday evening activities this Sunday night due to Labor Day.  Enjoy some extended time with family and friends. If you are in town this weekend, be faithful in church Sunday morning for Sunday School and Worship and then enjoy your Labor Day weekend.  Church office will be closed Monday.
