Friday, August 3, 2018....From the Shepherd's Heart

This weekend is a very special weekend at Rainsville First Baptist Church.  We believe Sunday School is the most important ministry of the church.  (We believe worship is who we are, not what we do; thus surpassing everything else.)

We believe every member of our church should be a member of a Sunday School group.  Sunday School is "the church organized and mobilized."

So, this is Sunday School Focus Weekend and we are delighted to welcome back to RFBC Dr. Jody Dean.  Jody is Associate Professor of Christian Education at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary but is also a former Minister of Education at RFBC.

Jody is speaking at our Leadership Appreciation Banquet on Saturday night and then to all Care Group leaders and secretaries at 9:15 Sunday morning in the Large Fellowship Hall.

Then he is preaching in the 10:15 worship service.  Plus Sunday morning we will be praying over all of our school administrators, teachers, bus drivers, and students.

Also, Sunday is the last day Isaac Mays and his family will be with us.  Isaac and his family have been a precious and valuable asset to our church in the four years they have been planted here.  They are moving to be an Associate Pastor and Minister of Youth.  We wish them God's very best and pray God's blessings on all their endeavors.

Then Sunday afternoon is our Third Annual DeKalb Sunday School Leadership Conference hosted by Nazareth Baptist Church from 3-7 PM.

Alan Taylor is our featured speaker as he will be leading all the adults plus speaking in our closing general rally.

Allan is the Director of the Sunday School and Christian Education Ministry of Lifeway Christian Resources.  He is the former Minister of Education at First Baptist Church, Woodstock, GA.

He is as close to "Mr. Sunday School" of our generation as anyone.

We are blessed to have him with us for this conference.

Three of the current ministry members at Woodstock are coming to lead the conferences for youth, children and preschool leaders.

The conference is free and open to anyone who wishes to attend.

What a weekend.  Pray...attend...grow.
